Why Am I Still Sinning?
Published: September 23, 2015 (Originally published: November 26, 2011)I’ve been a Christian just over 3 years now. Several things in my life have changed as a result; however, there are somethings that no matter how hard I try to convince myself I won’t, I continue to fall into sin. I know there are some temptations that we need to flee from, but at the same time, I feel like I should have victory over this sin and not continue to fall to it. Is there something I’m missing or should I just keep running? I don’t like that sin is able to dictate how I live my life.
OSAS and Living for Jesus
Published: September 23, 2015 (Originally published: September 26, 2015)I know I am saved by grace through faith and Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I know my citizenship is in heaven and I am living for Jesus from heaven to earth (Colossians 3:3-4). I just feel like I have to be careful not to indulge in sin or drift away so I will “stay saved”, or stay a new creation in Christ or make sure that my spirit, soul and body is sanctified. It is this constant fear of going to hell that bombards me if I choose to live in sin or walk in the flesh (which I strive to live in the spirit). I want to live for Jesus since I am his son and I want to please him and serve him, but I feel like this issue of OSAS and Losing Salvation gets in the way of living for Jesus. I am so focused on that instead of living for Jesus and serving him because I do not want to find out that I can lose my salvation and it will be too late. I know there are scriptures on eternal security for the church age but I just do not want to be wrong since I have noticed about 95% of the church teaches you have to stay saved (and I get tired of arguing with them about it).
Demonic Oppression
Published: September 23, 2015 (Originally published: September 25, 2015)Hello pastor Jack. I suffer from extreme intrusive thoughts. These thoughts can be blasphemous, or doubtful, or sometimes pure evil. My greatest fear is being rejected by God, and considered unforgivable by Him.
And some tell me “These thoughts aren’t yours. So long as you fight against them, and don’t agree with them, you have nothing to worry about.” And then I think okay, yes, that makes sense. But then I worry: *Am* I fighting against them? What if I absentmindedly agree to an evil thought, or let it sit too long? Then the thoughts come back again, and I find myself evaluating my feelings towards the thoughts as well as the thoughts themselves. “Was that a hint of admiration? Was that a bit of assent? Did I just agree to something I should not have?”
I’m sorry for bugging you with this, sir, but I’m a trainwreck right now and need some definitive answers from someone more knowledgeable of the Bible than I am. Would you say that I am in fact condemned? Or is there hope even for me?
How Can I Help My Uncle?
Published: September 22, 2015 (Originally published: October 17, 2011)I wasn’t sure if my uncle was a true believer or not, so I have been sending some things to him regarding bible prophecy, etc. With the Rapture so close, I guess I just wanted to make sure he had his act together regarding belief in Christ. His e-mails seemed to reflect someone who is very bitter and angry. He revealed to me that he used to go to church, pray, etc., but since the murder of his daughter years ago, he turned his back on Christianity. I think he’s angry at God for what happened and wants nothing to do with religion of any sort. I don’t know if he was ever a true believer (ie, accepting Christ as his savior), but how does one provide and explanation or comfort one who has become so angry and bitter.
European Migrant Crisis
Published: September 22, 2015 (Originally published: September 24, 2015)Regarding the mass migration of muslims into Europe:
What is your opinion on what’s happening to Europe concerning end times Bible prophecy? And do you think that Europe could descend into a societal/economic meltdown and into terror/war BEFORE the Rapture? Should Christians in Europe brace themselves?
Head VS Heart
Published: September 22, 2015 (Originally published: September 24, 2015)Hi Jack, Recently my pastor preached a sermon on faith where he said believers sometimes have faith in their head rather than their heart. He cited purgatory, the rapture and other beliefs that may stunt a believer’s faith. I consider myself to be a seasoned believer and I am having a difficult time with the head/heart distinction as it pertains to faith. Can you help me with that? Thank You so much for your ministry.
Flesh, Blood and The Kingdom of God
Published: September 21, 2015 (Originally published: September 23, 2015)1 Corinthians 15:50 says that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. Yet the Millennium seems to be populated with people in their mortal bodies. How is one to reconcile these two points? Thanks for your response.
Pillars in the Temple
Published: September 21, 2015 (Originally published: September 24, 2015)Hi Jack,
In Revelation 3:12, Jesus says, “He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore.” Though this reference is made in a letter to the Church at Philadelphia, I know that this is not a function of Church Age believers, but would seem to point to tribulation martyrs. I cannot find a reference to this in any of your other writings. Could you please clear up my confusion?
Thanks,
Ginny Peek

Overcoming Unbelief
Published: September 21, 2015 (Originally published: September 23, 2015)I have a question about healing. I believe it’s available to us today and I believe the Lord wants to heal us. My problem is when I pray for healing for myself I actually feel hope more than faith. Try as I might I just can’t walk away from my prayer convinced I’m healed. I have ear aches and other ear problems. I’ve prayed numerous times for healing and I’m still waiting. How do I change my attitude from hopeful to believing?
How Does Satan Tempt So Many?
Published: September 21, 2015 (Originally published: September 23, 2015)It’s obvious that Satan is the ruler of this world & I don’t doubt his power and influence, but I’m wondering how he is able to tempt so many people around the world every day? He certainly isn’t omnipresent in the same way that God is, so how does he do it?
Evangelist To Intercessor
Published: September 21, 2015 (Originally published: October 27, 2010)My question involves my 12-yr-old daughter. She is at a point where she selectively listens to her mother and me and I am at my wit’s end over how to communicate to her the truth of the Bible. I want to make her aware of the fact that the prophecies relating to the end times are real and are being fulfilled in her lifetime. I want to get through to her that the Lord is coming soon and that all believers will be going to heaven, ALIVE, but I don’t know how to get her to take it seriously. She has stopped saying her prayers and has little, if any, relationship with our Lord.
And it is not just my daughter–I have family members (including my wife and grown children) who grew up in a denomination that indoctrinates so deeply that any approach to prophetic truths or the issue of salvation, is shunned. Please advise me on how to reach them with the truth.
The Holy Spirit In Acts 19
Published: September 21, 2015 (Originally published: September 22, 2015)Can you help me with Scripture that says the Holy Spirit comes into a person’s life/heart the moment they genuinely profess faith in Christ? Why did the 12 men of Acts 19:1-7, who Paul called brethren, not even know about the Holy Spirit?
Has the 70th Week Already Passed?
Published: September 21, 2015 (Originally published: September 22, 2015)I read your writings with great eagerness. This question come as a result of a discussion I’ve had in a forum. Has the 70th week occurred?
I’ve been taught for many years NO it has not. But this new mathematical equation from a pyramidologist is claimed to prove that it has. That history shows the 70 weeks started in 485 BC and Christ crucified ended it. They threw out a myriad of verses from Daniel 9:25-27, Luke, and Romans to prove the theory.
Heaping Coals on His Head
Published: September 21, 2015 (Originally published: September 22, 2015)Jack, in Romans 12:20 why the analogy Coals of fire on his head?
I understand the idiom, “kill em with kindness” and the like but coals of hot fire? I’ve asked a number great scholars and have not got a great answer really interested in what you have to say.
How Can We Stop Arguing?
Published: September 19, 2015 (Originally published: September 21, 2015)Ever since we made a public declaration that we are getting married, challenges don’t stop coming our way. We are both saved and we know that every external challenge that brings about a conflict in our spiritual commitment is an act of the devil because he is after our destiny and what God is ready to do through us. But when we misunderstand each other, the conflict becomes unbearable and it feels as if the whole world is against us. This has been continuing for some time. What can we do?
Where’s The Church?
Published: September 19, 2015 (Originally published: September 21, 2015)I can find no place in Revelation where John states that the “Church” is in heaven where he is during the tribulation. The ones in Heaven are God, Jesus, the Elders, the angels and those Christians under the seat of God that have been killed for their belief in God and Jesus. The only others that show up in Heaven are the slain that come out of the great tribulation. So where is the “Church”?
Does God Want Us To Be Poor Or Wealthy?
Published: September 19, 2015 (Originally published: September 20, 2015)Does God want his servants to be poor or wealthy when he says if you want to be his disciple deny yourself take and take a cross and follow me and also by saying we must store up riches in heaven not on earth where they will perish.
How Can I Comfort Her?
Published: September 19, 2015 (Originally published: September 20, 2015)How do you comfort someone and reassure her that God loves her after she was raped and beaten? She is 21 years old and was overpowered by an intruder in her home. She barely survived the ordeal. I know to tell her that it is Satan and not God that brings these things across our path but that would mean that she probably had unconfessed sins which broke the fellowship and allowed the devil to get a hold on her. But how do you tell someone that it is her own fault that something so horrific happened to her.
Where Is Judas?

Rapture Date Setting?
Published: September 17, 2015 (Originally published: September 18, 2015)Could you address the recent speculation and discussion regarding claims the rapture will occur on September 23, 2015? And also how or if it correlates with a pre-trib rapture? As much as I’d love to believe in this, I know only God knows the date. I appreciate your reading and response. Thank you!
Why Did God Afflict Job Follow Up
Published: September 17, 2015 (Originally published: September 19, 2015)I am glad someone asked the question, Why Did God Afflict Job?
Your answer on to this question is truly disturbing. If Job had unconfessed sin, then we are all vulnerable because I am sure we all have unconfessed sins of which we are unaware. To me, this plays into works religion and definitely God being more a God of judgment than one of love. Was Job treated differently because he lived in OT times before Christ?
Ezekiel 38 and Revelation 20
Published: September 17, 2015 (Originally published: September 19, 2015)I read an article about two different wars of Ezekiel 38-39.
I also read your commentary on the Book of Revelation, “When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth – Gog and Magog – to gather them for battle” (Rev. 20:8)
These two articles, yours and the other, agree that the “Gog and Magog” war, will be at the end of the 1000 years.
Then I read another article writing the opposite. This is quite confusing, to read different scenarios, all on trustworthy websites.
I have previously believed the Gog/Magog war will be before Armageddon, but now after reading for the first time, that it might be at the end of the 1000 year reign, I am quite baffled.
Please explain in more detail. Thank you for taking time to make things clearer.
Age of the Earth, Follow Up
Published: September 17, 2015 (Originally published: September 18, 2015)There are solid, well researched reasons to reject the “Gap Theory.” Too many Christians have been duped by this deference to evolutionary geologists. I hope you will read the article I have linked, and reconsider your position on this important matter. It really is a serious compromise to the revealed text. You have a very strong influence on many readers around the world, and some will accept what you say without question. You counsel people to take God at his word; please give more thought to this teaching. I have only linked one voice; there are many.
Should I Stay Or Leave?
Published: September 17, 2015 (Originally published: December 18, 2008)When I got married I made a commitment before God to make my wife as happy as I could without being selfish, always trying to love her just as Jesus loved the church. Since both of our parent’s marriages ended in divorce, I was determined to make an extra effort. I know that we are human and we could never really accomplish that, but that’s the example that we’re supposed to follow.
Now it’s 6 years later, and I’ve become involved with another woman. I deeply care for my wife and children, but feel that I would just be sacrificing myself for their happiness while I don’t have the desire to be with my wife like I use to. I have not spoken to anyone about this, but I’m praying that I find someone that is unbiased and will not give me a “religious” answer, but Bible based counseling. I know that God forgives any sin and can restore my marriage, but I feel like I don’t want to try anymore. Right now I’m with my wife because I know that is what God wants, that people around me would suffer if I left, and that my pastor and leaders would be disappointed in me. About my children, I love them, but my parents stayed together for many years because of us and lived a very unhappy life until they finally got a divorce.
I’m not looking for the easy way out, but I also don’t want to live in an unhappy marriage. I have asked God for forgiveness and I know I have been forgiven, but I’m having a very difficult time knowing what direction to take. Please help me.
It’s His Kindness That Leads Us To Repentance
Published: September 15, 2015 (Originally published: September 18, 2015)I feel like you’re saying a believer should never call a sin that someone may be doing, a sin. There is specific scripture regarding confronting a significant sin or sins that a member of the body may be involved with. And as far as sins by those who are not believers, if Christians don’t speak out, the unsaved will think “everything is OK; there is no real right or wrong”. Just sitting in our churches and waiting for the “convicted” to walk in is too easy. I still believe we have a responsibility to “call sins what they are, sins”, and of course with a heart and mind of humility and/or forgiveness if its we who were the victim.
