Will Sanctions Against Russia Cause Ezekiel 38?

Published: August 2, 2014 (Originally published: August 1, 2014)
Q

I am wondering if the current sanctions placed on Russia by the EU and US might be the catalyst for the Ezekiel 38 war. My understanding is that Putin has a strong interest in the oil reserves in Israel. Could an economic downturn in Russia resulting from these sanctions motivate the invasion?

Germany And Ezekiel 38

Published: May 3, 2016 (Originally published: May 4, 2016)
Q

I have been reading some recent articles that seem to be advocating that Germany will be a major player in the Ezekiel 38 39 battle! Do you think that Germany could be Rosh rather than Russia?

Sequence Of Mid East Events

Published: October 7, 2008 (Originally published: October 7, 2008)
Q

I’ve heard just about every point of view concerning the Church’s whereabouts before, during and after the War of Gog/Magog, and I came to the conclusion that the Church would almost have to have been raptured beforehand. As I understand it, God would turn to Israel after the departure of the Church. It certainly appears that the time is approaching, with Russia forging its way towards Turkey and ultimately Israel, and Turkey growing impatient at the EU’s stalling of Turkey’s request of EU membership, as well as Russia’s growing aggression throughout the Med. What are your thoughts on this?

Magog. Russia Or Turkey? Follow Up

Re: Magog. Russia Or Turkey? At the end of your comments you quoted Ezekiel 38:15 and stated that it says “to the land of the ‘far’ North.” I have a King James Bible and it states, “And thou (Gog, vs. 14) shalt come from thy place out of the ‘North parts’.” Thou and many peoples with thee.” What translation do you use to find “far” North? I have always been taught also, that the invasion is from Russia, but this translation (far North) seems to be stretching the meaning a bit.

Question About The Bush Scroll

Published: January 14, 2008 (Originally published: January 14, 2008)
Q

I have a question about the letter to Bush from the Rabbis. I was confused because I didn’t see where Ezekiel 38 says Gog is a prince of the west, though it does seem to say he is different from someone in the far north (vs 6) but it says in vs 15 he would come from the far north.

On the other hand, I found it interesting in vs 4, it says “I will turn you around” and vs 10 “thoughts will arise in your mind”. So it almost seems as if this mounting attack against Israel will be a change of plans or intent for Gog. That doesn’t seem to apply to Russia.

Another Look At Ezekiel 38

Published: July 17, 2007 (Originally published: July 17, 2007)
Q

I do a Bible study on Sunday afternoons and I’m teaching Isaiah right now. I came across something interesting and I would really like your input. I am involved on a well known prophecy chat board and your commentaries are posted often, so I would like to get your input directly from you, if that’s ok?

I will preface you by stating that I am Pre-Trib without a doubt, but I see Ezekiel 38 and 39 as the Day of the LORD due to some of the language and cross referencing it with the other prophets on the same event (Ezekiel 38:17 says that Gog is spoken of by the other prophets). This seems to cause a rift on the board because I am making my way as a teacher as well, and I do not just blindly fall in line with any view unless it is very clear.

in reading the text in Isaiah 23 about the destruction of Tyre and Sidon I went to Ezekiel 26 and 27 for the more specific prophecy. There are three cities in Ezekiel 27 named Togarmah, Meshech and Tubal that traded with Tyre and Sidon by sea. As I read the notes in my Bible and some commentary, they indicate that, “Tubal and Meshech are in Eastern Asia Monor, or modern day Turkey along with Togarmah.

So then I go to commentary about Meshech and Tubal in Ezekiel chapter 38 and guess what? Meshech and Tubal have now mysteriously migrated some 1000 miles north and INLAND and have become Russia now, and no longer the seafaring/trading cities of Asia Minor.

Think about how prophecy has been interpreted over the last 100 years, and look at how many things were indeed off the mark. Can anyone honestly answer and admit that the Russia view may end up being an “off the mark” interpretation if the LORD tarries and we really see it coming together differently? The key is Turkey in my opinion. I am watching them, not Russia

I guess I’m asking, what am I supposed to do when I study and prepare to teach and try to be faithful? Read the Bible and then disregard it and just cut and paste commentary of popular views and teach it as my own? Or trust the Holy Spirit, read the Word, cross reference a couple of commentaries, and then teach what He is leading me to teach?

Who Will Be Fighting Israel After Ezekiel 38?

Published: March 31, 2014 (Originally published: March 30, 2014)
Q

After the battle of Ezekiel 38 with the downfall of Russia, what Moslem nations fall with Russia ? Assuming Damascus has already been destroyed, who do you think are the Power Nations left to battle Israel ? Or as Ezekiel 38 ushers in the 7 year Tribulation period, are there no more major wars until the battle of Armageddon ? Without major wars involving Israel, are the remaining events of the end times only related to God’s judgments of Wrath upon mankind ? Thank you for your site and your wise insight to coming events !

What In The World Is Happening?

Published: March 22, 2014 (Originally published: March 19, 2014)
Q

I read all sorts of conclusions from Christian writers but truth be told, I really do not understand what is happening in Russia at this juncture. Some say Putin seeks to bring down the American economy this way, others say America is working with him and some even suggest that it is Russia, not China, that is the emerging superpower. I am confused. Could you please shed light on this from God’s standpoint?

Isalm And The Anti-Christ

Published: September 25, 2008 (Originally published: September 24, 2008)
Q

There has been a lot of hoop-la lately about the anti-christ and the Muslim religion, that their messiah is the same description as the anti-christ in the Bible. Religious leaders are saying that the one world religion will come out of Iran.

How can that be? The Bible says that the anti-christ will come from the west. I think the west is in reference to west of Israel. I do not think that the anti-christ will be a terrorist. As I understand it he will be smooth as silk, and very cunning.

I do not think that Iran will be around too much longer, Or have much power. Iran is not useful to China politically and will not tolerate the Muslim religion, and Russia will soon drop Iran once they get the money they want from them for incomplete war equipment. Russia is no fool. You don’t give a madman a loaded gun so he can shot you one day. Can you respond to these issues?

The Magog Persia Alliance
