I really enjoy your teachings. My question is this…what do you think of those that say Israel will strike oil soon and this will be the catalyst or hook that God puts in the jaw of Magog (Russia) to attack Israel?

It is taught by various prophecy teachers that the nation of Israel will be a very prosperous one at the end of the age. I am wondering if you share that view and if so what scriptures you use to support it?

Hats off to you for your nothing short of stunning piece on Pres. Bush being named as “Gog” by leading rabbis. Extremely thought-provoking. What could better illustrate the ever-changing nature of prophecy? Even supposedly bedrock interpretations of verses like (Ezekiel 38:1).

Correct me if I’m wrong: isn’t the more conventional interpretation of the identity of Gog, and Magog thought to be Russia, with the chief prince of Meshech as Moscow and Tubal as Tobolsk, Siberia?

I have a question about Iranian President Ahmadinejad’s nuclear threats against Israel. The chapters of Ezekiel 38 and 39 appear to indicate that the Moslem Coalition and Russia invade the Jewish nation by way of assembling an army. Are nuclear weapons the same as a gathering army? If this nuclear threat prophetically pertains to this invasion then how can Israel’s enemies plunder a land that is victimized by such a holocaust?

I love your site, i recently saw a Question someone sent in about Magog, and burning of weapons, etc…. I noticed in your answer to the person you mentioned ” And what would they burn? Even rifle stocks are no longer wooden. ” I didn’t know if you knew this or not but Russia has been using Lignostone in the production of its weapons. Lignostone “is a special kind of wood used for ‘coke breakers.’ It is stronger than steel, is very elastic… and it burns better than coal.” It definitely makes sense now about the burning the weapons.

It is a fact that the battle that brings Russia’s invasion of Israel to an end results in the destruction of “all men of war,” Ezekiel 39:20. This ought to make it obvious that the battle described in Ezekiel 38:21-22 and 39:1-6 is the very same battle commonly referred to as “Armageddon.” Compare Isaiah 34:1-6, 63:1-6, Revelation 14:19-20, 16:12-16, and 19:11-21. It is quite plain that “all men of war” are destroyed in this same battle in which the Lord destroys Russia and her allies, Ezekiel 39:20.

If this battle should then occur before the Tribulation, as some teach, or even right after the beginning of the Tribulation, as others teach, then who would fight during the Tribulation? Remember, “all men of war” are destroyed in this battle. I take this to mean that every human being who has “war” in their heart will be destroyed from among men. Who then would fight during the Tribulation if “all men of war” have already been wiped out when the Lord destroys Russia and her allies? Well…??? What do you think Jack? Is this right?

About a year ago a theologian came to our church and spoke on Psalm 83 and Ezek. 38/39. He said they would happen at the same time, because Ezek. 38 references others besides those named as involved in the alliance. Could we be seeing this taking place now? Iran has begun moving troops into Syria to support its leader against the uprising. What if Russia and Iran are both able to move heavy units into Syria?

I was wondering what your views on how imminent the rapture is? Whilst we don’t know the hour we do have the various signs the bible talks about.

However I have read over the past 25 years many commentaries, along with appropriate bible versus that state ‘the hour is very near’.

Eg. WW3 would start between USSR and USA, until the USSR dissolved, the emerging EU was seen as a ‘marker’, until the number of EU countries went past 7, then 12, now the plan to create a EU ‘high level group’ may be the next ‘marker’, the rise of terrorism is seen as another sign, etc, etc.

Whilst I believe there will eventually be an ‘end’, what are your thoughts on the various time lines that have been discussed over the past 20 or so years, that whilst being biblically based and sounding reasonable, have all come to nought?
