Spreading The Gospel

Published: July 2, 2021 (Originally published: June 2, 2012)
Q

It is my understanding that Jesus commissioned his Disciples to go into all the world and preach the gospel. Yet Peter only briefly spent time with some Gentiles then retreated to Jerusalem and hedged back to Old Covenant works based rituals. Paul, not an original disciple took up the commission, yet even he sometimes got off on works and when he returned to Jerusalem also agreed to participate in Old Covenant rituals. I’ve read one commentator who states it does not matter if Paul did this out of fear of the Jews or sympathy, in doing so, he was betraying his believe in the all sufficiency of Christ’s death and resurrection. As I read the New Testament with this in mind, it seems this was much bigger than I thought.

The Return Of The Medes

Published: October 12, 2014 (Originally published: October 11, 2014)

Commentary by Jack Kelley

See, I will stir up against them the Medes, who do not care for silver and have no delight in gold. Their bows will strike down the young men; they will have no mercy on infants nor will they look with compassion on children.

Anti-Christ’s Origin?

Published: May 28, 2009 (Originally published: May 27, 2009)
Q

Rev. 2:13 says

I know where you live–where Satan has his throne. Yet you remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me, even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death in your city–where Satan lives.

Could this verse possibly give us a clue as to where the anti-christ comes from, “where satan’s throne is” and “where satan lives” ?

What Happened To Matthias?

Published: April 19, 2014 (Originally published: April 20, 2014)
Q

My question is about Matthias, the apostle who replaced Judas. My SS teacher said that he believes that Paul should have been the replacement apostle rather than Matthias. His reasoning is that there is nothing more known about Matthias after his selection and he says, a careful reading shows that the Lord was not consulted about the selection. I know that Paul is sometimes called the 13th apostle, but is anything known about Matthias?

One Person’s Imagination

Published: August 24, 2015 (Originally published: August 25, 2015)
Q

I read an article that claims America is the Bibilical “Mystery Babylon” which will be destroyed by a Russian nuclear bomb exploded by 1/1/2016 at 20 mile over the middle of America causing a great electromagnetic field that will turn us into darkness. Also, President Obama is the king of the South and Putin is the king of the North.  Putin will invade America with his allies. Do you think that there is any Scripture to support these alarming predictions?

Who Built These Things?

Published: July 16, 2016 (Originally published: July 17, 2016)
Q

Are there any Bible answers on such mysterious sites on earth as the Gobekli-Tepe site in Turkey and Stonehenge and similar phenomenon? I have been asked how they exist and fit into the creation theory. The proof is there for all to see and in some cases even in this time cannot be explained on the how and why along with tools used to create some of the wonders of the world. Any information, or bible based theory even would greatly be appreciated

Where Are The Assyrians?

Published: January 9, 2014 (Originally published: January 8, 2014)
Q

I have a question that has been troubling me and maybe your vast knowledge of scripture can answer it. I know what an important part the reformation of Israel is to the nearness of the end. But in Isaiah 19:23-25 we are given a picture of what seems to be a close relationship between Egypt, Assyria and Israel. Where is this Assyria and shouldn’t we be seeing some sign of its reappearing? Is it the Kurdish people who are declaring a home land that closely resembles ancient Assyria?

Locating The Garden Of Eden

Published: January 12, 2024 (Originally published: September 14, 2013)
Q

I have a question about the Garden of Eden. I heard a well known bible teacher say that Jerusalem could be the same place where God established Eden. He made some interesting parallels like In Genesis 2:8 where it states that God planted a garden toward the east of Eden. Directly east of the Temple mount is the Garden of Gethsemane and the Mount of olives. What are your thoughts on if Jerusalem is Eden?

The Garden Of Eden

Q

Thank you so very much for your answers and help in clarifying different passages in Scripture. God has given you such keen insight, thank you for sharing with us.

I have a question about the garden of Eden. Where did it go? Was it taken to Heaven, or protected for awhile and then destroyed? Was it really located in the area they now call the Fertile Crescent?
