Jealousy And Politics In The New Jerusalem?

Published: March 16, 2014 (Originally published: March 15, 2014)
Q

Some thoughts came into my mind yesterday. If millions of raptured believers live in New Jerusalem, is it possible for human friction, jealousy and politics to abound in New Jerusalem. I was thinking particularly about the Bema rewards that our Lord will give each one of us at His Judgment Seat after the rapture. Will believers become unhappy or jealous because they received less rewards than others? Will believers play politics (just like office politics and even church politics on earth) when they work for the Lord throughout eternity. I know it sounds silly because there will be no sin in God’s special enclave, but I can’t imagine that a billion people living in New Jerusalem (presumably an enclosed space) will not have friction or start playing politics.

Going To Hell For Suicide?

Published: April 23, 2015 (Originally published: April 24, 2015)
Q

I was raised in the Catholic church and never understood the concept of purgatory and the belief that if you committed suicide you would go there. After the Judgment of the Bema seat took place, then you would be sent to hell because you took your own life. now I attend Bible believing churches and have learned that a believer does not go to hell because they committed suicide. Once saved always saved. Please help me to understand this.

Defining Good And Bad Works

Published: April 22, 2014 (Originally published: September 8, 2010)
Q

You’re fond of saying that we’re saved because of what we believe, not because of how we behave. So then, is it my understanding that when we are judged for the things “good or bad” as it says, it’s more of a review of self conduct, obedience, learning to resist temptation, these kinds of things? Is it more like what “rewards” we will be given so to speak? Since we are sealed based on our belief only, then what we choose to do with our lives is what merits rewards but isn’t necessarily “required” of us?

Crowns For Believers, Literally?

Published: January 3, 2016 (Originally published: January 3, 2016)
Q

My question concerns crowns and the meaning of the term. I know the Bible mentions a crown of rejoicing, a crown of righteousness, a crown of life, etc., but are these literal crowns to be eventually awarded the believer, or are they metaphors for something else? The old hymn says “Crown Him with many crowns” so maybe Christ is the only one worthy to be crowned? Thank you and God bless your ministry.

Punishment Day? Follow Up

Published: December 6, 2015 (Originally published: December 13, 2015)
Q

Re: Punishment Day? Psalm 50,Daniel 12:1,2 and Rev. 20:4 indicate that the Old Testament Saints & Tribulation martyrs will be resurrected during the glorious second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Before the second coming, the judgment of believers happens at the bema seat where they will be rewarded. How about the judgment of Old Testament Saints & Tribulation martyrs for their rewards?

Why Pray For Things That Will Happen Anyway?

Published: September 2, 2015 (Originally published: September 4, 2015)
Q

If the Bible already contains prophecy, and if everything it says will come to pass, then what good will it do us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem? Shouldn’t we just be praying for Gods will to be done? Everything the Bible says is supposed to happen seems to be happening now, so how can our prayers do anything?

Judgment Day

Published: June 4, 2008 (Originally published: June 4, 2008)
Q

I know that Hebrews 9:27 says “man is destined to die once and after that to face judgment”. Does that mean people are judged right after they die, or does it refer to the “The Day of Judgment” where everyone will be judged at once?

Longing For His Appearing

Published: January 19, 2014 (Originally published: January 18, 2014)
Q

There is so much evil and corruption in this world in every place you look; business, school, police, government. We try to stand our spiritual ground but it’s becoming harder and harder to do, in the face of all the evil. Is it alright for Christians to pray for Jesus to Rapture His Church? I admit I have really been praying hard for it recently. I pray He comes for us soon.

Storing Up Treasure In Heaven

Published: April 5, 2024 (Originally published: April 4, 2012)
Q

Just wondering. If we do something good here on Earth to try and earn a blessing, it won’t work. Does the same concept apply when giving for the direct purpose of storing up treasure in Heaven?
