A Question About Predestination

Q. In Ephesians 1:5 Paul writes, “Having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.” Now I understand that every time we see predestined in the scriptures, it is talking about foreknowing. So, this means God knew us before we were born and knew how we would respond to His plan of salvation. I understand that God did not create us to accept, nor did He create some not to accept, He just knew who would accept. My question is, knowing who would accept and who wouldn’t, why did he create those that He knew wouldn’t? Read Post »

Three Days And Three Nights Or 72 Hours?

Q. As you are aware the Hebrew culture’s sense of timing was and as far as I know still different from ours.  This is certain during the time of the disciples who would have kept to Hebrew timing.

At the time of the crucifixion Jewish law had an important legal stipulation.  This stated that a person was not legally dead until a full three 24-hour day’s had passed i.e. 72 hours.  Read Post »

Believe Or Die!

Q. Something is laying heavy on my heart and was wondering if you could give me an answer. I have always felt Christians had one up on Muslims because I always thought Christ taught that it is up to you join Him or not, whereas Muslims have to join and stay a Muslim under coersion and threat of death. Deuteronomy 13:10- tells a different story. If God never changes why did he threaten death to those who refused to follow Him? Sounds like the koran. How can I tell a Muslim my God would not force you to believe in Him when He did it here? Read Post »

Was The Church Foreseen In Old Testament Prophecy?

Table of contents for Paul's Mystery

  1. Was The Church Foreseen In Old Testament Prophecy?
  2. Paul’s Mystery

A Bible Study by Jack Kelley

There is a view among some Christians that the Church was never foreseen by the prophets of Israel. Those who teach this view claim that since Paul called the Church a mystery that was not made known to men in other generations (Ephes. 3:2-6) there couldn’t have been any prophecy about it, since prophecy is the opposite of mystery. Will We Remember Our Past Failures?

Q. I have been wondering about the examples that the LORD is showing the world right now about debt and how even now our unborn children and grandchildren are already guilty for and will be held accountable for the debt of governments because of taxes. I know that with our salvation the LORD GOD no longer remembers our sins, but we do remember the guilt in association with the debt we owe the LORD for the price HE payed. I feel certain that when we are finally with the LORD in heaven we will no longer feel that guilt but I cant find that in the Bible. Please refer me to the verses that says we will not feel guilt any more.  Thanks.

Saving For Retirement

Q. I have been struggling lately with justifying in my mind different life options (should I bother with getting another degree to advance on the pay scale?  should I just take my house off the market?, etc.) and find myself thinking, “I won’t be here much longer anyway, what is the point?”  One area in particular that has been on my mind is investing for retirement.  I am in my early 30’s and firmly believe that being part of the Church, I will not be here in 20 years to need my retirement.  I know that I have a responsibility to be a good steward of my finances, but I can’t help think that reducing my investments and using that money that has been freed up toward the Kingdom wouldn’t be a better idea.  I guess I am torn between my stewardship responsibilities and my hope and belief in the rapid approach of the Rapture.  Any thoughts would be appreciated. What Will Happen To The Temple Mount?

Q. I was wondering about the mosques that are sitting on the Temple Mount. When the Lord comes back, what will be done with them? It seems to me that He would do to them what was done to the Temple. Your thoughts? Read Post »
