Christian Duty Vs. Modern Medicine

Q. You have been good to answer so many of my questions.  I have been involved with a kind man who has been renting a cabin on my land.  Of late he has lost his job due to his boss dying.  His mental state has been very odd and he seems to have delusions as to some things that happened in the military.  How does God want us to deal with this kind of thing?

Where Was Lazarus?

Q. Since I discovered your web site on Internet It’s been really a blessing for my soul and spirit.  I know God our Lord Jesus is guiding you and I thank Him for doing so.  I pray that He will always use you as He’s doing it today.

I had a talk with a friend.  I know he has some knowledge about Scriptures, but sometime I feel he’s a little awkward of what he understand from the Word.  He Just recently asked me if I knew where Lazarus was at the time Jesus came to resurrect him.  I told him that from what I have read in Scriptures, He was supposed to be in Paradise (sheol), which was the place for saints to go after they departed.   Well, He told me Lazarus wasn’t there but I felt he was telling me that not just Lazarus but all saints.  Read Post »

Are Things Different Now?

Q. Over the years I’ve experienced some life disappointments, and because of this my mind has been plagued with doubts.  So, I’ve been searching the New Testament to try to see what I need to do for the Lord to make Himself real to me.  I have a Jewish Christian friend who feels convinced that the Jewish Law is to be obeyed for Sanctification and Maturing.

What Can Keep Us From Being Saved?

Q. My question:  When I became a Christian at 19 it was because someone told me about Jesus Christ dying for my sins. I didn’t know anything else except I wanted Him as my Lord. I built my doctrine from there by reading the Bible and attending churches and fellowships.

I’d like to know what you believe can keep a person from actually having been saved.  I didn’t know about the Trinity. I fully believe it now as I learned it years ago. But what about Mormons who love the Lord and dedicated their lives to Him and then were taught by their church that there is no trinity?  I’m fully aware that Mormon or Jehovah Witness or even Catholic theology is wrong, but where does the line get drawn? They are being taught wrong doctrine and yet many of them claim to have fallen in love with the Lord the same way I did.

What About Home Churches

Q. I’ve been reading your blog for a year and enjoy it much. I would be interested in your opinion of house churches. I read  (popular books on home churches)  and feel that the Holy Spirit is telling me that what I’m reading is good and true.

Understanding Rev. 20-22

Q. The question you recently answered on Revelation 22 reminded me I had one, too. The timing of things confuses me.  It looks like we’ve had the Great White Throne Judgment in Revelation 20.  So why are there still liars & murders & idolaters outside the gates of the city?  Is the city the New Jerusalem?

We are grateful to you for all your help, and grateful to the Lord for you.

Rev. 22:1-6 Follow Up

Q. On your reply to the question on Revelation 22:1-6.  I do not  understand how one comes to the belief that this is in Israel, and as for the growing seasons, I don’t understand how one can think there are growing seasons for this tree either as it clearly says that there is no day or night for God is our continual light and the river flows from the throne of God.  Is not the throne of God in heaven?

Casting The Stones?

Q. I recently heard that the stones on the breastplate that the priest wore, were taken out, and cast down, much in the way (for those who practice it) chicken bones are thrown down, to see what God wanted them to do. I was told, “that is the only way they heard from God”.

Psalm 123

I lift up my eyes to you, to you whose throne is in heaven. As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he shows us his mercy. Have mercy on us, O LORD, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt. We have endured much ridicule from the proud, much contempt from the arrogant.
