gracethrufaith.com is a non-denominational, non-church, Christian ministry dedicated to providing believers with a deeper understanding of the whole counsel of God through His revealed word.
About the Author
Jack Kelley is a Christian writer with several books to his credit, including Children’s Stories of the Bible, The Adult Version, Seven Things You Have To Know To Understand End times Prophecy, and The Redeemer. His e-book entitled “The Seven Churches Chronicle” is a commentary on Revelation 2-3 and is based on a research trip to Turkey and Greece, where he visited the actual sites of these churches as well as other prominent New Testament locations.
Jack was a successful management consultant who “grew up” in a main line denomination but 25 years ago experienced a radical conversion to Evangelical Christianity. Since then he has devoted most of his time and energy to studying and teaching the Bible, conducting studies throughout the western US and serving as teacher, counselor, and lay pastor. He has led several pilgrimages to Israel and Jordan, and is the author of all the website’s articles. These articles and his answers to questions on the Bible have been read by millions of pastors, teachers and students around the world and are regularly used as sermon topics and Sunday School lessons. Jack and his family currently reside on the Baja Peninsula in Mexico where they serve as volunteer missionaries. (Jack is not the former USA Today reporter, nor is he the former TV star and game show host.)
About Our Ministry
Our website ministry continues to grow with thousands of visitors every day from 190 countries and territories around the world. With the exposure we get from other major websites that post our articles gracethrufaith.com has achieved worldwide popularity! Our constant prayer is that the Lord will continue to expand our territory and increase our influence on the lives of those He brings to us while there’s still time.
Our primary goal for 2013 has been to bring more of the 8,000 articles, topical studies, and Bible answers currently on the website to an even broader audience. To that end, we’ve completed several projects. I wrote a book called “The Redeemer” that was published in the spring, and is built around a series of studies we did on who the Redeemer is, and what He has done, is doing, and will do for His people. It was meant for believers to use as an evangelism tool to bring the gospel to a wider audience, and many have used it for that purpose.
We also joined Facebook and Twitter and have a steadily growing daily presence on both sites. Our facebook page uses our popular Q & A format to focus on what it means to be saved and how to live the Christian life. We use Twitter to keep people updated on new articles, studies, and Bible answers as we post them. We encourage you to follow us on both.
Our most ambitious project of the year involved launching a completely new version of the web site, including new features, a vastly improved search function, and a mirror site in the Spanish language. We’re still in the process of converting some of our multi-part studies into e-books for Kindle, i-pad, and other e-book readers, and upgrading our “Prophecy in the Headlines” feature. Look for these in early 2014.
Each year we become more heavily involved in local ministry, too. There are urgent needs all around us and we continue to focus all our available resources on helping people meet them.
In addition to providing food and clothing to needy families, we continue to help support a no cost medical clinic and a no cost day care. And our no cost legal clinic helps guide those in need through the often confusing process of obtaining emergency public assistance. Mexico has some very good health and welfare programs in place, but the bureaucracy that administers them makes it difficult for people to qualify. This means the very people for whom the programs were intended often get turned away empty handed. The legal assistance we provide assists them in getting the emergency help people need when they need it.
In 2012, we began a “Home Improvement Ministry”, repairing and expanding existing homes, and even building new ones, for families in a nearby community who lack adequate living space. By the end of 2013 we had completed 29 building projects of various sizes. These range from complete new roofs to entire two or three bedroom homes all at no cost to the people involved, and have kept a crew of four carpenters working full time for two full years. More details and photographs about this important part of our local ministry are available here.
We’ve been able to sustain these efforts in the Lord’s name because of your generous support. It reminds me of Paul’s promise that God is able to make all grace abound to us, so that in all things at all times, having all that we need, we will abound in every good work. (2 Cor. 9:8) We can’t begin to tell you how grateful we are for the help you provide, and that goes double for those whose lives we’re impacting together.
About Our Beliefs
We hold to the pre-tribulation, pre-millennial, dispensational system of theology and subscribe to a literal, historical, grammatical interpretation of scripture.
- Literal means we believe the bible is the inspired word of GOD to be taken at face value unless there is compelling reason to do otherwise (usually indicated in the context of the passage).
- Historical means that each passage is put into its proper historical setting, and surrounded with the thoughts, attitudes and feelings prevalent at the time of writing.
- Grammatical means that words are given meanings consistent with their common understanding in the original language at the time of writing.
We believe in the imminent return of our Lord for His Church (The Rapture), to be followed first by a period of judgment (The Great Tribulation) and then His final return to Earth with His Church to Rule and reign for 1000 years (The Millennium).
We believe that mankind is hopelessly lost due to sin and, destined for destruction, can only be saved by the completed work of the Lord on the cross through the regenerative power of the Holy Spirit. No amount of human effort or good work will suffice in lieu of this and none is required or necessary to supplement it.
We believe that our salvation is laid up in heaven, free for the asking, granted to everyone without condition or prejudice, out of the incomparable riches of God’s grace.
We believe that each human can, and indeed must, individually seek this salvation by choosing a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus.
We believe that all who ask will receive, all who seek will find, and to all who knock the door will be opened. It is our Father’s will that all who look to His Son and believe in Him will be saved.
We believe that once this relationship is sought and granted it can never be revoked or relinquished. While the Bible encourages us to live our lives in a manner pleasing to God, our salvation is not contingent upon maintaining certain standards of behavior.
We believe that the only true church is that invisible body of believers from all walks of life and every Christian denomination and faith who have trusted Him and only Him for their redemption.
