A Second Work Of Grace

Q. While visiting a local church, we were introduced to the idea of “a 2nd work of grace”. We were told that you can obtain perfection through sanctification while still on earth, at which point you no longer sin. Instead, you only make mistakes. In addition, you can lose your salvation before you are perfect but, you can also be saved again. This goes against everything we have ever studied and we just don’t buy it. We would appreciate your comments.

Bishops And Deacons

Q. Firstly thank you for your insight and answers to all the different questions people ask and need answers for.  I would like to know firstly the difference between a Bishop and a Deacon or Elder.  Also could you please tell me why a Bishop cannot drink wine (1 Timothy 3:3) yet a Deacon can drink a little wine (1 Timothy 3: 8)?

The Correct Form Of Baptism

Q. My pastor had a sermon the other week and stated a person should get baptized by the name of Jesus Christ not just  by the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. He says the Bible states this and that a man changed it. I was baptized by the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit not by Jesus Christ.  Should I get baptized again?

The G-12 Model For Church Growth

Q. What is your feeling regarding the G12 cell structure, that is popular amongst the churches?  It appears to have all the bells and whistles,with “add ons”.  I personally believe that we do not need a name for the gathering of the believers in houses, and also that it maybe a pyramid scheme without money.  Please assist.

An Objection To Head Covering

Q. 1 COR.11 seems to put women under the law much as circumcision did for men.  Also, using the “2 witness” method, this cannot be supported elsewhere in scripture.  Why do you teach that this has never been revoked?
