Planning To Go Or Planning To Stay?

Q. I have a question and I hope you can provide another set of eyes on this.  My wife of almost 2 years now has told me that she is ready to go (in the Rapture) at any time just as I am.  We agree about most spiritual matters however, she is constantly planning, planning and planning for years to come.  I am constantly looking up as if the rapture could occur any day now and it is as if she is oblivious to the events that are taking place around the world.

Questions About Life In Heaven

Q. Hi! I have a few questions about life in Heaven…I’m wondering when we go to heaven will our new lives carry out – not so much the same as our earthly lives – but more with the same tendencies and emotions (but without sin of course) as on earth? Do you think we will have ‘relationships’ with fellow believers (i.e. best friends, lovers, parents, children) as we do on earth?

Same Sex Attraction

Q. I am a 22 year old Christian male with same sex attraction(not in a gay lifestyle) and haven’t had counseling yet.  My relationship with God has seemed like a mess and  no connection for over year now.  In fact, I have a fear that I wouldn’t go to heaven if I died.  I also have a fear of rapture/tribulation that I’d be left behind.  Could this SSA be a stumbling block in my walk with God?  I have considered talking to a pastor about it.

Is There Any Hope For My Mother?

Q. My mother had a 13 year affair with my husband. Needless to say my marriage was over.  My Daddy would not believe she did anything wrong, because that is what she told him.  He had a nervous break down and died young of heart problems.

Mother was telling me she had done nothing wrong and would not admit to the truth.  I called our pastor to come to her house so she could tell him what she had been telling us. She told him “I have done nothing wrong.”  He asked, “Her to explain to him how she could commit adultery and not feel bad about it.”  She replied, “On my way to meet him I asked God to forgive me. Afterward I would repent for what I had done wrong, so I have not committed any sin.” The pastor, told her that if she believed she had not done anything wrong she had been turned over to a reprobate mind.  She started crying and saying, “there is no hope for me.”

Monogamous Marriage

Q. How did the practice of marrying more than one wife come about since Jesus said marriage is between one woman and one man.  We are studying the story of Leah and Rachel and its bugging me that Joseph married more than one woman.  When/why did this practice stop?

Am I Unequally Yoked?

Q. I would first like to say thank you for all you do on this website. It has truly been a blessing to me in my life. I work the kind of job in which I am not able to attend church every Sunday.  I am a nurse and I work every other weekend and most Wednesdays. It is very nice to have a way to get small devotionals in to feed my spirit.

I have a problem though. I love my husband and he is a good man. I feel he is unequally yolked with me and it gets worse the more I go to church and want to be involved with the Lord. He will go with me when I am able though he always lets me know he only does it for me. He also doesn’t believe in tithing to the church. He has gotten to wear he will tithe; but I know it is not with a open heart. I feel like he resents me for it. I am constantly getting looks when I read my bible or spiritual books in my own home. He thinks I am a fanatic. And that believe it or not is very painful and heartbreaking. I no longer feel connected to him emotionally. I no longer desire him. I pray for him and for God to open his eyes. I also pray for myself to have those feeling for him again. It is just very hard to see a future for us when I am going forward and he is not in his relationship with Christ. I have brought this up to him and we have had many arguments on this topic. How About Sharing eMail Addresses?

Q. I noticed that a lot of people visit your website.  I was just wondering if you could make their email addresses available to the visitors on your site so we can interact.  Very good questions are asked and you do a fantastic job of answering.  Wouldnt it be great if we could all interact and maybe more studying and more questions would arise.  I believe it would be a great learning tool and with you as our teacher how can we go wrong?  What do you think? A Beginner’s Bible Study

Q. Thank you for your wonderful site!  It is a blessing to have as a resource.  I am wondering if you can send me in a good direction…

I was so thrilled that my roommate came to church with me on Easter Sunday. She isn’t walking with the Lord, although she calls herself a Christian. She expressed to me that something is missing in her life and that she feels broken. I am praying the HS would continue to convict her, and that she would continue to come to church and understand the full cost and impact of her salvation, and what it means to be a child of Christ. Can God Forgive Me?

Q. I have a question about my salvation. I will try to keep it short. About four years ago our son died after a long illness. This was the hardest thing I have ever been through.  I felt so abandoned by God that for months I lashed out and I even called him names and vowed to become an atheist.

Today I am finally starting to deal with my sons death and I also feel so ashamed that I lashed out at my Lord for turning on him the way I did, I feel he could never forgive me for such an act. Daily I am trying to get closer to God. So what I am asking is can I be forgiven for the way I treated him? I need to know because it is a tormenting feeling to be separated from God. Read Post »

Is Artificial Insemination OK?

Q. Much, much praise for your invaluable website.

What are your thoughts on sperm donors?  If a woman’s husband is infertile, could she be inseminated with a donor’s sperm?  I’m thinking that it’s not necessarily sinful because the act of sex is not actually involved…also, what about an unmarried woman who decides she wants to have a child on her own and gets inseminated?  It’s the sperm of someone she’s not married to, but sex isn’t involved.  Read Post »
