Guardian Angels

Q. When a baby stares fixedly at a corner of the room, my mother-in-law  always said a tiny infant was looking at his Guardian Angel, whom he could see clearly.  Who knows?  Wasn’t Elijah’s servant allowed to see the Host of Heaven arrayed for battle?

Of late, and when I remember to do it, I have taken to asking God to send an angel to watch over me when I find I am being distracted in prayer or reading scripture.  It seems to work.  Placebo effect?

Do all Christians, even adults, have a Guardian Angel?  What does scripture say about it?  I need all the help I can get.

Yes You’re Saved, But …

Q. My question is if you are a real born again believer and are in a back slidden state, will you go in the rapture, is your salvation secure, and do you have the spiritual authority to do spiritual warfare against the enemy and demons in particular if you are back slidden?   My 20 year old daughter who is on fire for the Lord is constantly questioning my salvation because of the situation I am in and just doesn’t understand why I can’t get out of it “If I love the Lord and have faith in him”.

Double Mindedness

Q. I read a christian’s comment on something in a blog. She said  “Don’t be double minded or the Bible says you won’t receive anything.” I know this bible verse and it always confuses me, mostly I find it very distressing. Does this mean that we have to maintain unfluctuating faith without any fearful thought, doubt or negative imagination? Most times these things attack very easily my mind. Am I in danger that the Lord will not help me or grant a promise if my faith is fluctuating? Do these above mentioned characteristics mean double mindedness? And does unwavering faith mean the lack of these characteristics?

Can Satan Read Minds?

Q. I’ve often heard it said that Satan cannot read minds.  The reason, people say, is that it is because he is a created being.   But that is no real answer.  Since Satan was created by God, seems to me that God could have given him whatever abilities He wanted to, even knowing thoughts.  Frankly, though, in most cases, Satan’s intelligence gathering demonic ‘network’ is very likely so efficient that he might seem to know thoughts. So, can Satan know our thoughts or not, and, if not, what is the biblical reason for that stance?

I Can’t Get Over My Abortion

Q. Thank you for your site. It is early morning and and I awoke with life’s stresses bouncing in my head. The Lord comforted me and answered this day’s prayer through your site. So, please know that even while you sleep the Lord is working through you. I pray He will grant you and yours many blessings.

My turmoil began in late ‘97 when my husband and I found out I was pregnant.  Shortly after finding out, an ultra-sound found some abnormalities and I was sent to a specialist hospital that had a 3D imaging ultra-sound. It confirmed what my doctor already thought, my baby had anencephaly.  Anencephaly is basically a reverse spina bifida, where the head doesn’t close and the brain doesn’t form fully. I told my doctor that I couldn’t have an abortion as I believed it to be murder, but after my doctor explained that if the baby went full term it would only survive up to an hour. I thought of the pain that my baby might go through with (possibly) more developed brain tissue and I finally agreed to a D & C. Same effect as an abortion but supposedly more humane.

How Does Satan Attack Us?

Q. I understand that Satan attacks us through our minds.  How does he do this?  I know all the scriptures re: girding up the mind, stay alert, think on these things, etc., are more than likely our best defense.  Do you have some insight into this? Read Post »

Thoughts On Col. 1:19

I am hoping for some insight from you on Colossians 1:19. Do you believe this refers to the heavenly battle (as I do) with the angels and is this reconciliation and peace a forgiveness of some angels or the judgment of them or am I completely off the mark altogether?

Have I Committed Blasphemy?

My question is regarding Matthew 12:31,32, and is more of a personal nature. I would like to understand it more fully because that passage has always brought on many attacks from the enemy. One day upon reading this passage I stopped to ponder on what it meant to blaspheme the Holy Spirit and in my mind came all sorts of terrible thoughts against the Holy Spirit.

Doesn’t Satan Know?

Am I correct in assuming that Satan knows of coming events such as the rapture (even though he doesn’t know the exact timing), the Gog/Magog war, the rise in power of the anti-Christ, Armageddon and the 2nd coming of Christ, and the fact that he will be bound for 1000 years and then loosed for a “little while” until he is thrown into the lake of fire? Does he believe he can change the course of these events to his favor?
