Adam And Eve

Q. My question is two fold:  if Adam was created first in God’s Image, in perfection, why then would he need “help” from Eve? Is there a lost translation here?   Secondly, is there any biblical reference for why the enemy targeted Eve first, not Adam?

A. All the other species had both male and female so they could procreate.  Even though Adam was created in the image of God, he was still a man and couldn’t make a baby without Eve’s help.  Adam needed a woman to help him populate the Earth.

As for Satan attacking Eve first, We learn from Paul that God’s “chain of command” placed Himself at the top followed by man and then woman (Ephesians 5:22-23).  Had Satan deceived Adam, Eve would have had an excuse for taking the forbidden fruit.   “I was only obeying my husband,” she could have said.  “Isn’t that what I’m supposed to do?”  By approaching Eve first, Satan accomplished the utter fall of both.
