Ezekiel 38 and The Great Delusion

Q. Our Lord destroys the armies of Israel’s enemies in the Gog/Magag war to reveal that it was he and not the IDF that causes their defeat,yet He causes a great delusion to come over the people during the tribulation so that they receive the anti-Christ.  Why do you think that is ?

A. The purpose of the Lord’s intervention in the Ezekiel 38 battle is to re-awaken Israel and fulfill His promises to them through the final 7 years of their 490 year plan (Daniel 9:24-27).  The purpose of the great delusion in 2 Thes. 2:11 is to assist unbelievers in following their choice to its ultimate conclusion. 2 Thes. 2:10 says the people perish because they refused to believe the truth and be saved.  Having done so, their only other option is to follow the anti-Christ to destruction.
