Infiltrating The Church?

Q

Do you think the church of Laodicea is infiltrating the church of Philadelphia today?

A

I think it’s just the opposite. I think the “in-name-only” Christians are being drawn out of the true church (Philadelphia) and into the apostate church (Laodicea). This is the fulfillment of 2 Thes. 2:3.

Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.

The Greek word translated rebellion by the NIV is apostasia. It means falling away, or apostasy. Paul wrote that in the time before the anti-Christ appears, many who claim to be believers will rebel against the truth of God’s word. In 2 Timothy 4:3 He said they’ll seek alternative interpretations of the Scriptures that are more compatible with their thinking.

For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

A hallmark of the Laodicean Church is their watered down message that doesn’t require a personal relationship with the Lord, denies the validity of prophecy, and places a greater emphasis on living in the world than on preparing for eternity.
