Isn’t 1967 A Better Start Date?

Q

I had a question regarding 1948 and this beginning the first year counting down to the rapture. I know this is when Israel became a country but I thought the count down, according to the Bible, would begin 1967 when the 6 day war reclaimed the city of Jerusalem. Meaning once Jerusalem was reclaimed by the Jew then THAT generation would not pass before Jesus returned. Which would mean the rapture should occur the year 2030??? Please let me know what your thoughts are on this.

In Luke 21:24 Jesus said Jerusalem would be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. Many people saw the recovery of East Jerusalem in 1967 as the sign this prophecy had come true. But the Gentiles are still there and are still trampling on the city. Rev. 11:2 also says the Holy City will be trampled on by the gentiles for 42 months using the same wording as Luke 21:24. Since Rev.11 comes just before the beginning of the Great Tribulation that tells me the Lord’s prophecy won’t be fulfilled until the 2nd Coming, Therefore 1967 can’t be used to begin the countdown. I believe 1948 is the correct starting point.
