Greetings and His blessings be upon you. Of recent times I have been burdened with the “silence” surrounding the country of Jordan. In other words, while the greater region of the Middle East is involved in terror and the flames of battle, Jordan appears to be unscathed and/or untouchable; most news agencies do not mention the name of Jordan … unless their king’s name [Abdullah] is in some way involved. No more, no less.
Perhaps there is a minor news “blackout?” Could it be a “protected neutral” area for some reason(s)? I must admit I am truly mystified. Surely some sort of end time scenario is involved here? I thank you in advance for any help and insight in the glorious name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It’s a little known fact, but Jordan’s King Abdullah is the closest living relative to Mohammed, the founder of Islam. If there was a united Islamic kingdom, or Caliphate, Abdullah would likely occupy its throne. As such he wields enormous influence in the Middle East, although behind the scenes. He’s the custodian of all the Islamic Holy sites, and exerts personal authority over the Temple Mount.
His country, Jordan, is the only part of the world that won’t be under the control of the anti-Christ during the Great Tribulation, and will become a haven for believing Jews.
When Jesus said that people in Judea should flee into the hill country at the time of the Abomination of Desolation (Matt. 24:15-16), He was talking about Petra, in southern Jordan.
