Looking Around During The Rapture?

Q

I am a believer and when talking to my mom about the rapture I told her I wanted to look around to see every other believer being called to Heaven. I think it will be a spectacular sight! My mom told me I better keep my eyes on the Lord or I could turn into a pillar of salt like Lot’s wife. Will I be able to look around or will I be completely focused on the Lord during the Rapture?

A

In 1 Cor. 15:51-53 Paul said the rapture will happen in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, To me that means in one moment we’ll be here, going about our business, and in the very next one we’ll be standing in the Lord’s presence. There won’t be time to look back, like Lot’s wife, or to notice anyone else.

I think our first reaction will be absolute shock that it really happened, and our next one will be overwhelming joy as the reality sinks in. After that, we might begin to look around and see who came with us.
