I am seeing a lot of negative talk about the movie Son of God. They are saying the people who made it are into new age doctrine and spirit channeling and that it is wrong to see this movie. What is your opinion? I don’t want to be misled by anyone. Your thoughts are much appreciated.
I haven’t seen the movie and since there are no theaters where we live I’ll have to wait for Netflix. In the professional reviews I’ve read by Christian reviewers, I haven’t seen any mention of the things you’ve brought up.
But I think people should remember that this is a big budget Hollywood movie that has to be a commercial success to justify itself. That means it’s designed to be entertainment, and not a documentary. It is also trying to condense the life of Jesus into a two hour summary. As such it has to leave out a lot of detail. If people want the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth they should read the Bible.
