Old Covenant Or New?

Q

After the rapture and the Ezekiel battle when Israel sees the Messiah and rebuilds the Temple, I understand that they will resume sacrifices. My question is, why do they resume sacrifices? Or don’t they yet know that Jesus is their Messiah and that His sacrifice was perfect?

A

After Ezekiel’s battle God (not the Messiah) and Israel will pick up right where they left off, in an Old Covenant relationship. Old Covenant worship requires regular sacrifices. That’s the only explanation for why the Jews will demand a Temple as Daniel’s 70th week begins.

Sometime in the early part of the 70th week Israel will begin thinking of the anti-Christ as their messiah. Until he claims to be their God, that is.

Later, toward the end of the Great Tribulation Jesus will finally be re-introduced to them as their true Messiah, and this time they’ll accept Him. (Zechariah 12:10).
