Only 144,000?

Q

I have a question after reading your commentary of Rev. 7 about the 144,000 Jews sealed.
I’ve heard they are the only Jews that are saved during all the tribulation. How can that be true?

A

I can’t find any Biblical support for this view. Jesus warned those in Judea to flee into the mountains at the start of the Great Tribulation. (Matt. 24:15-16) In Rev. 12:14 we read of the Jews being supernaturally protected in the desert. And it’s the believing remnant that populates Israel in the Millennium. It seems to me that this implies a much greater number.
