I have to tell you that your web site is a blessing to me and I praise God for your honest and balanced teaching.
Somewhere in the past there was a teacher who used a bible passage to demonstrate that the Palestinian State would be created but that it would not last and would be turned into a desolate place, never to be inhabited again.
Can you or do you know where that is? I lost my notes and for the life of me I cannot recall the passage.
I appreciate all of your work and I get a blessing every time I read your material.
Since the land Palestinians occupy has always been and will again be part of Israel, it won’t ever be a desolate place.
But there is a passage in Ezekiel that pertains to the divided Kingdom of Israel/Judah and is sometimes applied to the Palestinians. Perhaps it’s the one you’re thinking of.
” ‘Because you have said, “These two nations and countries (Israel/Judah) will be ours and we will take possession of them,” even though I the LORD was there, therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I will treat you in accordance with the anger and jealousy you showed in your hatred of them and I will make myself known among them when I judge you. Then you will know that I the LORD have heard all the contemptible things you have said against the mountains of Israel. You said, “They have been laid waste and have been given over to us to devour.”
You boasted against me and spoke against me without restraint, and I heard it. This is what the Sovereign LORD says: While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. Because you rejoiced when the inheritance of the house of Israel became desolate, that is how I will treat you. You will be desolate, O Mount Seir, you and all of Edom. Then they will know that I am the LORD.’ ” Ezekiel 35:10-15
This passage says that the land of Edom around Mt. Seir will be made desolate. It’s talking about the southern portion of modern Jordan which has been a wasteland for centuries.
