Parable Of The Wedding Banquet, Follow Up

Q

Thank you for the commentaries. I was reading the “Bride” article and came across a question within the “Parable of the Wedding Banquet”. You mention under the “Wedding Planner” third paragraph that the “Invited guests represent Israel”. Also you mention under “Do You Know The Bride” the servants He sends out to invite them “are the 144,000 evangelists”. I guess my question is, aren’t the 144,000 from the Twelve Tribes of Israel, making them the Israelites? Or is this maybe the “Saved” Israelites?

A

The 144,000 are from the 12 tribes of Israel, but they won’t be the only Israelites to be saved. I think they’ll be evangelizing the entire post rapture world, both Jew and Gentile. 144,000 is a too large a number of missionaries for Israel alone, but too small a number to constitute all the Jews who will be saved.

By the way, these 144,000 are the only ones in all the world who will receive the protective seal of God after the Church is gone. All other believers will be subject to the same dangers as everyone else, and will also be responsible for maintaining their own salvation in the face of incredible persecution.
