Preaching The Gospel To All Nations

Q

I recently read that you said students of bible prophecy say that there is nothing left to happen here on earth (according to scripture) before we go (rapture). My pastor says we can’t be very close because the the good news of Jesus Christ must be preached to all nations before Christ returns for us. He says that reputable missionary groups claim this isn’t even close to happening. They say there are many people on earth who haven’t heard of Christ or His Salvation. I believe we are very close but what do I tell people who claim this?

A

In In Matt. 24:4-14 Jesus gave an overview of the things taking place as the End of the Age approaches. One of the last of these is that “this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world and then the end will come.”

In Rev. 14:6 we read how this prophecy will be fulfilled. “Then I saw another angel flying in the air and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the Earth – to every nation tribe language and people.”

Although this must happen before the 2nd Coming, it won’t happen before the Rapture of the Church, because by the time Rev. 14:6 is fulfilled the Great Tribulation will have already begun and the church will be long gone.
