Provokng The Jews To Jealousy

Q

I enjoy reading your articles and answers to questions daily. My question is this: How will the believing Gentiles provoke the Jews to jealousy?

A

You’re referring to Romans 11:11. I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles.

Think of what the Church has been given. Due to nothing more than our faith, we were chosen to be the Bride of Christ, seated by Him on His throne, and given an exclusive eternal dwelling place. We are God’s demonstration of the incomparable riches of His grace to the ages yet to come.

We will also be going into the Kingdom ahead of Israel, so while we came to Him last, we will soon be first. No group before us or after us will be so honored.

Paul made it clear that it was not God’s intention to abandon the Jews, but rather to make them jealous by offering salvation to the gentiles. What the Lord has done for us is more than enough to accomplish that.
