Re-Discovering God

Q. For about a year I have felt more distanced from God than I have in the past. I still pray, but I just feel a disconnect from God. I try and obey and honor Him, but like I’m just drifting. How do I know if I’m doing his will? How do I know what path for my life he wants me to take? Thank you.

A. Perhaps you have become too focused on your Earthly life and drifted away from God, or have some un-confessed sin that has become a barrier between you.  And even if that’s not the case, many believers have been surprised to discover that too much emphasis on doing His work can actually distract us from Him.  But remember, God doesn’t move away from us, we move away from Him.  Romans 12:1-2 provides the answer to your question.  Confess your sins, and present your whole life to God to do with as He desires and He’ll reveal His will to you. He promised that we’ll always find Him when we seek Him with all our heart.
