I have wondered about what we will know of our past relationships once we’re in Heaven. I have read of God wiping away all tears. Will we not have knowledge of family who were not saved and what of our relationships with those who were saved? I am happily married and have asked if I will know of the relationship we had once we are in heaven.
There aren’t very many verses that clearly describe our next life. Here are 3 of the most revealing as far as relationships are concerned.
“Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.” (Isaiah 65:16)
“At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.” (Matt. 22:30)
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Rev. 21:3-4)
That said, I believe we’ll all know each other and will feel unconditional love and respect for each other, no matter what our past relationships have been. Beyond that only the Lord knows.
