Satan, Judas And The King Of Tyre

Q

Can Satan indwell a person? How is it that Satan indwelled the King Tyre? Is this a conflict in Scripture?

A

Satan did indwell Judas (John 13:27) and according to many scholars will indwell the anti-Christ.

In Ezekiel 28:12 Satan is called the King (melech in Hebrew) of Tyre whereas in Ezekiel 28:2 the human king had been referred to as the Prince (nagiyd in Hebrew) of Tyre. Since a prince is subordinate to a king, this was Ezekiel’s way of saying that the real power behind the throne of Tyre was Satan. It was not meant to suggest that the human ruler of Tyre was indwelt by Satan. There are no conflicts in Scripture. There are only conflicts in our understanding.
