Spiritual Wickedness In High Places

My question is regarding Ephesians 6:12 where it says ” … against spiritual wickedness in high places.” I also have read versions where it states “heavenly places”. The question is where is “spiritual wickedness” in “high” or “heavenly” places?

Every morning when I read my daily Scriptures … I always read Ephesians 6:10-20 to put on the armor of God before I start my day. I think it is a great reading for all to read to protect themselves with before starting the day.

My question is regarding Ephesians 6:12 where it says ” … against spiritual wickedness in high places.” I also have read versions where it states “heavenly places”.

The question is where is “spiritual wickedness” in “high” or “heavenly” places? May God forgive me but where would evil lurk in “high” or “heavenly places”?

A. The phrase spiritual wickedness in high places refers to Satan and his demonic horde who inhabit the atmosphere. Remember in Greek thinking there were three heavens, our atmosphere, outer space, and God’s throne. Paul mentioned going to the 3rd heaven in 2 Cor. 12:2 and called Satan the ruler of the Kingdom of the Air (atmosphere) in Ephesians 2:2. Satan himself has access to God’s throne as mentioned in Job 1. He goes there to accuse us. It’s not until the beginning of the Great Tribulation that he’s finally expelled from God’s presence. (Rev. 12:9)
