Thanks for your time in reviewing my question. I am wondering, are there verses in the bible that support the idea that the Holy Spirit will be removed from the earth before the tribulation? It was explained to me that this was evidence for the belief that the rapture would occur before the tribulation (dispensational premillenialism).
The verse you’re looking for is 2 Thes. 2:7. “For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.” In the context of the passage Paul explained that the anti-Christ could not be revealed until the one who restrains, or holds back, his power is taken out of the way, or literally out of the midst. Pre-Trib pre-millennialists believe that the this restrainer is the Holy Spirit as resident in the Church. Since He’s sealed within us, if He goes we go too.
