I have not asked a question in a while, but I am a regular visitor to your site. I wanted to ask how a soul can be saved if they believe JESUS is in any way less than GOD himself?
Only God can forgive our sins, and then only after the blood of a man who has never sinned has been shed to pay our ransom, and therein lies the problem. God has never sinned, but God is not a human and there are no humans who have never sinned. Therefore, in order to save us, God had to become a man and then He had to die for our sins so He could forgive us. He did this through His son, who is both God and man.
In His infinite wisdom, God does not require us to understand all of that before we can ask Him to save us. But after we’re saved, He sends us a Counselor, the Holy Spirit to teach us things like this. Then, as we study the Bible with His guidance, we see that John told us Jesus is God (John 1:1) Paul told us Jesus is God (Colossians 1:15-16), the writer of the book of Hebrews told us Jesus is God (Hebrews 1:3) Jesus claimed to be God (John 10:30, John 14:9) And God Himself told us Jesus is God (Hebrews 1:8).
So, to answer your question, you don’t have to believe Jesus is God in human form before you can be saved, but the Bible is clear that after you’re saved you should come to understand that this is indeed the case.
