What’s Ahead For The Jewish People

Q. Revelation talks about the 144,000 remnant of Jews left at the end. Do you know the current population of Jews in Israel?  My understanding was that God miraculously saves them in these next few years. However, it recently dawned on me, & I started crying when I realized that it appears more and more like there will be another blood bath.  Would you please explain this for me?

A. Recent statistics reveal that there are 13.4 million Jews in the world. The US has the world’s largest Jewish population at 6.5 million followed by Israel with 5.8 million.

Here’s their story a nutshell.   According to Biblical prophecy the Jewish people will face severe persecution in the coming years, and there are several wars still ahead for them as well. Ezek. 39:28 says religious Jews from all over the world will swarm to Israel following Israeli victories in the Battle of Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38 .

Much of the persecution that will follow will be aimed at two groups; Orthodox and post rapture Messianic Jews representing all of the Tribes of Israel who will refuse to worship the anti-Christ. Their number will be much larger than the 144,000 of Rev. 7:1-8 who will be appointed from among them to be the Lord’s servants (evangelists) during the 70th week of Daniel.

According to Rev. 12:13-16 the Lord will miraculously preserve this group (represented by a woman in the passage) through the End Time Judgments by hiding them in the desert.  Jesus spoke of this in Matt. 24:15-20. During the Great Tribulation there will be a national conversion of Jewish people as they finally recognize that Jesus has been their Messiah all along (Zech 12:10).  They will populate Israel during the Kingdom Age (Millennium). Those Jews who don’t accept the Lord Jesus as their Messiah will perish along with their non-believing gentile counterparts.
