I receive an email from a well know Christian man daily. Today he seemed to be scolding Christians for helping Pres. Obama get re-elected. I asked the Lord for guidance and voted for Obama because I believe this is what I was supposed to do. I would really like to know your thoughts on this issue.
I received the same eMail. This man was puzzled as to why so many self-described evangelical Christians would vote for a President who advocates several non-Biblical positions. By definition evangelicals emphasize the teaching and authority of the Bible and these are issues on which the Bible’s position is unmistakably clear. He was wondering if these self-professed believers surrendered their Biblical convictions in the voting booth, or whether they never had deep convictions on these issues to begin with. I wonder the same thing. It makes me think a lot of people who claim to be evangelicals don’t know what the word means.
