If the spirit of a believer goes to be in the presence of the Lord when he/she passes. Where does a non-believer go when he/she passes?

The spirits of non-believers go to Hades also known as hell and the abode of the dead (Luke 16: 22-23). There they wait in torment until the resurrection of the damned at the end of the Millennium (Rev. 20:5).
