Why is the tribe of DAN not in Revelation?? Did God reject them totally?
The name of Dan is missing from the list of 12 tribes contributing 12,000 people each to be sealed as servants of God (Rev. 7:4-8) . Many believe that this is due to the fact that idolatry was introduced into the nation at the time of the divided Kingdom through the tribe of Dan. One of two golden calves was set up there for the people to worship. (1 Kings 12:28-30)
A less obvious fact is that Ephraim, where the other calf was located is also left out. However, the tribe of Ephraim isn’t excluded like Dan is because Joseph’s name was substituted for Ephraim’s. So they don’t have it quite as bad.
But no, Dan isn’t rejected forever. Although his descendants receive no divine protection and must endure the Great Tribulation without it, Ezekiel 48:1 shows us that they survive because the tribe of Dan is the first to receive an allotment of land in the Millennial Kingdom.
