Q
I have a question: what does the bible teach about man being a head of the family?
A
In Ephesians 5:22-28 Paul wrote that just as Christ is head of the Church, the man is head of the woman. Then he said that Christ loved the Church so much that he gave himself up for her, and husbands should love their wives just as much. So the wife is to be submissive to her husband, and the husband is to give himself up for his wife.
To me this means that while the husband is the final authority in the family, he will always act in a manner that best reflects his love for his wife, even to the point of putting aside his needs in favor of hers.
