Please explain who does Peter refer to in 1 Peter 5:12 Also, why is our prayer many a times not answered?

The man mentioned in 1 Peter 5:12 is Silvanus, also called Silas. He appears to be a secretary of sorts who helped Peter compose the letter. Some believe that he’s the same man mentioned in Acts who accompanied Paul and Timothy.
There’s no really good answer to the question about why it appears that God doesn’t always answer our prayers. But since He promised to grant whatever we ask as long as we remain in fellowship with Him, (John 15:7) the problem must reside in us not Him.
