Why Burn The Weapons?

Q

In light of the recent discoveries of oil and gas reserves in Israel’s territorial waters, it struck me as odd that Israelis would be burning weapons left from the Gog/Magog Battle. This can only mean one thing: the Israeli survivors will be scavenging.

A

If the battle happens soon it’s possible that Israel’s oil and gas discoveries will not have come on line yet, or if they have they could be a primary target for the enemy force. Or it could just be a very inexpensive source of fuel. In any event, Ezekiel 39:9-10 says people in the towns of Israel will be burning enemy weapons for seven years. What it doesn’t say is why this will be the case.
