I enjoyed your feature article this week. But I’m still puzzled. Why Joplin? What did the people there do to deserve this judgment?
You missed the point of the article, but judging from my mail you’re not the only one so let me clarify. What happened to Joplin was not a judgment from God. It was the result of severe weather patterns that have plagued mankind ever since the Great Flood. That’s when storms first appeared on Earth and along with earthquakes, erupting volcanoes and such they’ve been happening all over the world ever since. The people of Joplin are no more deserving of judgment than anyone else, but since sin entered the world and knocked God’s perfect creation out of balance just about any community can be subject to this kind of disaster.
