Crowns Of Victory, Crowns Of Gold

Q.  I have a question about the crowns that  the church is awarded at the Bema Seat after the rapture.  Revelation 4:4 states that the twenty four elders , which represent the church, will have crowns of gold. Then in Rev. 4:10, the crowns are translated from the Greek word stephanos; crowns made of ivy, olive leaves, flowers etc. I know that stephanos crowns are victors crowns. what are your thoughts on this?

Crown Him With Many Crowns

A Bible Study by Jack Kelley

This verse from the old hymn obviously refers to the Lord in His position as King of Kings. But did you know that you may also receive multiple crowns? There are five types of crowns mentioned in the New Testament that will be given to qualifying believers immediately after the Rapture. These crowns are identified as the Everlasting Crown (Victory) in 1 Cor 9:25, the Crown of the Soul Winner in Phil 4:1 and 1 Thes 2:19, the Crown of Righteousness in 2 Tim 4:8, the Crown of Life in Jas 1:12 and Rev 2:10, and the Crown of Glory in 1 Peter 5:4.

Crowns For Believers, Literally?

Q. My question concerns crowns and the meaning of the term. I know the Bible mentions a crown of rejoicing, a crown of righteousness, a crown of life, etc., but are these literal crowns to be eventually awarded the believer, or are they metaphors for something else? The old hymn says “Crown Him with many crowns” so maybe Christ is the only one worthy to be crowned? Thank you and God bless your ministry.

About The Crowns

Q.  I really can’t get the idea of even rewarding us with Crowns if they change nothing in regards to how we will be treated in the afterlife.  Why even give them to us in the first place if we are to turn around and lay them at Christ’s feet?  Does He need our crowns when He already wears the finest and most important crown of all?  Will we be assigned some sort of rank due to the number of crowns we earn or the number of times we qualify for a certain crown or crowns? What am I missing?

How To Win Your Crowns

A Bible Study by Jack Kelley

So, forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained. (Phil 3:13-16)

Casting Down Our Golden Crowns

Q. I have a question about Rev 4:10-11. Would you please explain to me about the practice of casting crowns? I’m just confused about why, after Jesus awards us with crowns, we would give the crowns back to Him? I read where we will do this because we are thankful for what He has done for us, but it just seems that there is some other significance to this ceremony that I’m missing.

Losing Our Crowns?

Q.  When the prodigal returned, his father welcomed him with open arms. But, there is no example of his father giving him another inheritance. Does this mean that when we fall out of fellowship with Christ that we lose any crowns we may have earned and they will not be restored upon repentance but we  will have to earn them anew?

Returning Our Crowns

Q.  I hear of crowns being awarded to the members of the church at the “Bema Seat Judgment”.  In my mind and my heart I do not feel I deserve any crowns, awards or any acknowledgments for anything I may have done as a Christian on earth.

Winning Crowns

Q. I have a question about the Bema Seat Judgment, when we are judged for our works during our lifetime. I’ve listened to a evangelist who states when we get to this judgment Jesus will ask each one of us what we did to work for Him in our lifetime and some of us will feel remorse in that we didn’t do anything to earn a crown.  He then went on to say how badly we will feel to have nothing to give back to the Lord when many others are casting their crowns back to Jesus.  I’ve been quite upset since hearing this man talk.  Is this really how it will be?
