Every Eye Will See Him

Q

In Matthew 26:64 Jesus answers the high priest,”…Hereafter shall ye see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.” Jesus is obviously referring to His second coming after the Great Tribulation and before the millennium. How can the high priest see Him coming in the clouds of heaven if unbelievers are not resurrected until after the millennium?

A

Rev. 1:7 tells us, “Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.”

In both places Jesus was talking about the fact that everyone alive on Earth at the time of the second coming would witness His return. The phrase “even those who pierced him” in Rev. 1:7 refers to the living descendants of the Jewish people who rejected Him at His first coming.
