Great Falling Away

Q

What is the great falling away or the emergent church movement?

A

The phrase falling away comes from 2 Thes. 2:3 where it’s also called the rebellion. The Greek word it comes from is the one from which we get apostasy. Paul said it would be a sign that the End of the Age has come.

Apostasy is the act of abandoning the truth. In the emergent church movement many see the beginnings of this in the fact that the Gospel message is being de-emphasized.
