The Sign Of Your Coming

Q

Do you think it’s possible that when Jesus answered the question about when his 2nd coming would occur in Matthew’s gospel, when he said “This generation shall not pass away before all these things happen” that he could have literally meant; Out of everyone born worldwide on the day in 1948 that Israel became a nation again, that at least ONE of those people would still be alive when the Tribulation ends?

A

Remember, the disciples had asked Jesus for a sign of His coming and of the end of the age (Matt. 24:3). They were looking for something that a person could use to determine the time of the second coming. I don’t know how it would be possible for any one to know when all but one of the people who were born on May 14,1948 had died. Therefore that couldn’t be the sign the disciples had asked for. But by knowing that the Bible says an average lifespan is 70-80 years (Psalm 90:10) they could narrow it down to a 10 year period during which He could return.
