Pray for Dinora and Family 5-26-23

Hello everyone! :hearts: It’s been a very hard week for this family. Please keep them in prayer this weekend.

Six months ago yesterday, one of our favorite grandmas in the community of our Escueltia passed away. This was Dinora’s mom. Her mom ran one of the little markets in town, out of the side of their home. They had to shut it down after she passed away. She had lived with Dinora’s family–her husband, Salvador and their two kids, 16 year old daughter Joselin and 6 year old son Josiel.

Dinora’s brother passed away three months after their mom. And this week, her husband died. A month ago, they didn’t know he was sick. And they didn’t know he was likely terminal until this Monday. He was losing weight, but he had diabetes, so that was good. But then he felt run down and was losing too much weight. Doctors ran test after test and came up with nothing until they found a problem with his liver that had gone undetected through it all.

So this sweet mom has lost her mom, her brother, and her husband in the last six months. My heart is so broken for her and their kids. :broken_heart: Everyone keeps talking about how similar it is to what we went through with Jack. Salvador was in the hospital for a week, and the family only had days to prepare with a terminal diagnosis before he went Home to Jesus. Dinora is still in shock. So we are rallying around her. Salvador asked that he be cremated and that they not have a wake or service for him. He didn’t want the expense or the trouble. But their six year old has begged that they do the wake, and so they’re hosting a small one tonight. Then he’ll be cremated over the weekend.

Dinora cleans homes in a nearby gated community for a living. Her husband ran the parking lot of a touristy restaurant 15 min north. Six months ago, her mom would take care of their youngest after school, since the little shop was at home.

Here’s Salvador and their youngest, Josiel:

The only photo I have of them all together is from four years ago, when Josiel turned 2:

Thank you so much for praying! :hearts::pray:
