This week in Mexico 8-8-24
Here’s a glimpse of our week of outreaches in Mexico. Here in Mexico, we have two full weeks of summer vacation left with the kids. We are trying to keep them all occupied while we sort through their school supplies lists and uniform needs. Tis the season for Back-2-School!

Happy Saturday, GTF fam!
We are getting to the finish line with Olga’s house project. The broken, porous walls are now sealed and painted, and we’ve cleared the land and dug trenches to allow the rivers of rainfall to drain around instead of through her house. Which is especially important with her brand new grandbaby there now!
We have our eye on the weather. It’s crazy to think of it with how hot it’s been, but it was almost this time last year when we got pelted with high winds and rain as a southern hurricane made it all the way north to us! This was very rare, so we’re praying it doesn’t happen again. The tip of the peninsula is about to enter hurricane season.
We are praying for our next project to begin when we are finished here. Please pray with us!

Olga’s house project
It was a hot week to dig the trench for the drain, but our guys made quick work of it! And thankfully, most of them are well after this sickness worked its way through the group.
The area in the pic below is a small strip on the side of Olga’s house and is shared with her neighbor. It was filled with all the bits of construction trash from both properties over the last decade. When their neighbor above them took down a landscaping wall and trees, it diverted the rushing rainfall down onto their houses. This area became our best option to channel the water around their houses and down to the street below.
