Defining Good And Bad Works

Published: April 22, 2014 (Originally published: September 8, 2010)
Q

You’re fond of saying that we’re saved because of what we believe, not because of how we behave. So then, is it my understanding that when we are judged for the things “good or bad” as it says, it’s more of a review of self conduct, obedience, learning to resist temptation, these kinds of things? Is it more like what “rewards” we will be given so to speak? Since we are sealed based on our belief only, then what we choose to do with our lives is what merits rewards but isn’t necessarily “required” of us?

The Salvation Event

Published: February 7, 2015 (Originally published: September 8, 2010)
Q

John 1:12-13 says believers receive “the power to become the children of God.” The wording of that sentence has always made me wonder whether we become children of God the instant we believe, or whether some additional, future act of Grace is needed for us to become “children of God” sometime later. Is it a matter of translation or the style of writing, or is there a real difference in meaning, two different stages in the salvation “process”?

The Great White Throne Judgment

Published: September 9, 2010 (Originally published: September 8, 2010)
Q

Rev. 20:12 says “And the books were opened”. Books is more than one so I take it as 2, the book of the saved and the one of them not saved. But then it says ANOTHER book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Please explain the different books and why there are more than 2 etc.

Was Mary Born Without a Sin Nature?

Published: September 13, 2013 (Originally published: September 9, 2010)
Q

Since original sin was passed by Adam to his sons would that also mean that Eve passed on original sin to the daughters? Was the virgin Mary born without original sin? Is it true that the Virgin Mary is the only human born without original sin, other than Jesus and Adam and Eve prior to sinning?

The Stinging Locusts

Published: August 30, 2010 (Originally published: August 29, 2010)
Q

First off I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your website and how much it has blessed me. I tell everyone I can about it. Now to my question. I just read your article Judging Planet Earth. In the article you said that only the 144,000 would be protected from the stings of the locusts. What will happen to those that have accepted Christ as savior before this judgment takes place and to those that accept him while suffering? Again I thank you for your site and pray that the anointing of the Lord stays with you as you stay faithful to Him.

What Are The Spirits of Dead Believers Doing Now?

Published: September 1, 2010 (Originally published: August 31, 2010)
Q

I understand that when a believer dies the spirit goes to Heaven. Is our spirit already working for God? Are we like Jesus as he was when he revealed himself to the disciples after rising from the tomb? Is our spirit restricted from leaving the new Jerusalem before the rapture? I understand that at the rapture our new immortal bodies will join with our spirit that has been in Heaven. Thank you for your insight.

The 200 Million Man Army, Follow Up

Published: September 1, 2010 (Originally published: August 31, 2010)
Q

I believe there is an error in your The 200 Million Man Army answer. Revelation 6:2 says, “And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. ” This is when the anti-Christ is revealed. Not all nations will agree to his authority and will bring on the next 3 judgments. Are you saying that the anti-Christ won’t be revealed until sometime during or after the Trumpet judgments? Respectfully I disagree with both interpretations.

Is The False Prophet Jewish?

Published: September 3, 2010 (Originally published: September 2, 2010)
Q

Thank you again for this wonderful website. My question is about the false prophet. We have been attending a series at a local church on Daniel and Revelation and the pastor who is teaching made a statement the the false prophet will be Jewish because he comes from the land rather than the sea. We would like to know your thoughts on this.

Will God Judge Me For This?

Published: November 19, 2013 (Originally published: September 2, 2010)
Q

I used to write romantic fiction, and even though I no longer do, I still have impure thoughts sometimes. I feel like Satan is using my previous job to attack my mind. I rebuke him, and pray to Jesus everyday to help me leave my old life behind. Will God judge me for these thoughts? I feel guilty that they even pop into my mind.

Can People Place Themselves Beyond Salvation?

Published: July 15, 2014 (Originally published: September 3, 2010)
Q

I have a question that most Bible teachers stay away from. Here it is: is it possible for a person to harden his heart to where he is beyond salvation?
