Q

I wonder about this wording in 1st Thes. 4:15. “For this I say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the the coming of the Lord … ” Is Paul referring here to teaching in the scriptures or to personal teaching which he received from the Lord?

Q

I just can’t believe how sparse dispensational commentary data is! Everywhere I look on-line I see replacement theology. I have a Bible Study I teach weekly and currently Matthew is our topic. Would you please provide your commentary regarding Matthew 11:11-19?

Is Prophecy Unimportant?

Published: July 7, 2021 (Originally published: July 14, 2012)
Q

The asst. Pastor in the church that I attend, knowing of my interest in prophecy, recently tried to debunk this interest by quoting Acts 1:6-8 and saying that there were more important things to understand than prophecy, and sermonized for an hour regarding these verses, implying that prophecy was unimportant. I would appreciate it if you would clarify this.

Where’s My Blessed Assurance?

Published: July 7, 2021 (Originally published: July 15, 2012)
Q

Although I grew up in the church and my family members were all Christians, I am totally unable to remember any time when I “went forward” to an altar to be “saved.” Despite praying all my life for strength of faith, for “blessed assurance,” I often ask myself whether I’m one of those vessels destined for destruction. Can you help?

Q

If the Lord knew that we would fall from the beginning, why did he create us? Why let us go through all the pain and suffering? I mean, what would the earth have looked like if Adam and Eve never have sinned?

Believing And Repenting

Published: July 8, 2021 (Originally published: July 12, 2012)
Q

Regarding OSAS, I believe many people wonder. What about repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I read “I repented before I knew the meaning of the word. I have repented far more since than I did then”. How do you compare “Believe on the Lord Jesus” and “repentance”? That’s not talked about much.

Atonement For Sins

Published: February 21, 2024 (Originally published: July 10, 2012)
Q

I have read with interest several questions and answers concerning the resumption of animal sacrifices during the millennium. Your Bible references make perfect sense even though Christ has forever atoned for our sins on the cross. My question is what do Jews do now for the forgiveness of sin? There hasn’t been any animal sacrifice since the temple was destroyed so how do they presume to have their sins covered today?

Tempted, But Without Sin

Published: February 21, 2024 (Originally published: July 11, 2012)
Q

We all know that Jesus was born of a virgin so that He would not be born in sin, like the rest of us. My question is this, If Jesus was not capable of sinning, why does the Bible say that, “He was tempted in all points as we are, yet without sin?” It also says, Jesus is our example. But He was not able to sin. And if this is true, why did the devil bother tempting Him?
