My name translates into English as "beloved" and Jonathon's is "God has given." God loved me so much that he gave me Jonathon as a friend.

Obed was the father of my father Jesse, so Boaz and Ruth were my great-grandparents. My name is David, a former shepherd boy from Bethlehem who became Israel's greatest King.

Understanding what God requires.

It's the only miracle before the Resurrection mentioned in all four Gospels. It must be important.

As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable. (Romans 11:28-29)

Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. (Romans 10:4)

"I will have mercy upon whom I will have mercy," He said, "And I will have compassion upon whom I will have compassion." (Exodus 33:19).

A day of the LORD is coming when your plunder will be divided among you. I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Once in a while I'm asked to do a study on a specific portion of Scripture. While we're waiting for the other shoe to drop in the Middle East, I'd like to respond to one I received recently concerning a portion of the Sermon on the Mount commonly called "The Beatitudes".
