I couldn't believe it! I had asked to build Him a house and instead He had promised to build up my house. From this time forth every King of Israel would be descended from me.

Even in the vacuum of leadership created by Saul's death, I thought it best to wait for the Lord's timing, and it turned out to be a good thing I did. I was going to need all the help I could get.

Understanding what God requires.

It's the only miracle before the Resurrection mentioned in all four Gospels. It must be important.

As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable. (Romans 11:28-29)

Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. (Romans 10:4)

"I will have mercy upon whom I will have mercy," He said, "And I will have compassion upon whom I will have compassion." (Exodus 33:19).

A day of the LORD is coming when your plunder will be divided among you. I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city. (Zech 14:1-2)

On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves. (Zech.12:3)
