Comparing Daniel 2 And Daniel 7

Published: June 3, 2022 (Originally published: June 5, 2013)
Q

I’ve always been taught that the beasts of Daniel 7 were simply another way of viewing the parts of the statue of world governments in Daniel 2, i.e. Babylon, Medes and Persians, the Greeks, Rome, and finally the feet of iron and clay — the last world government. But I’ve also heard it said that the beasts of Daniel 7 refer to Great Britain, Russia, America, and Germany respectively. Can you clear this up?

Submitting To Government Authorities

Published: September 21, 2016 (Originally published: September 19, 2014)
Q

When referring to Romans 13, which talks about submitting to governing authorities, does that mean the government has the right to control people’s lives? I know there are countries like China and North Korea that often seem to do that. This has happened throughout the Roman Empire in medieval times. When properly understood how authority works, how do we apply it to Biblical scripture?

The Mark Of The Beast

Published: February 17, 2014 (Originally published: June 3, 2010)
Q

I work on political campaigns and familiarize myself with legislation under debate. During the health care debates a legislative proposal included possible implanting RFID chips into recipients of the “public option”, an implant containing health information and monitoring success or failures of medical issues. As a Christian these proposals scare me, they seem invasive and may provide the ability for abuse.

Talking with my father, I mentioned my concern and stated that I would NEVER accept such an implant, in fact I would die before accepting any government mandated implant. Is such a concern irrational? I believe, as Christians living for Jesus, we should have boundaries we are not willing to cross. To me a government chip/implant is crossing the boundary. I know the same concern ran rampant when the social security numbers were administered but I think something in line with the RFID (failed) proposal is different and much more dangerous.

The Four Beasts Of Daniel 7

Published: November 30, 2013 (Originally published: November 29, 2013)
Q

I want to ask you about the beasts in Daniel 7. You identified them as the Babylonian, Media-Persian, Greek, and Roman kingdoms; many Bible scholars interpret them also this way. However, I’ve read another interpretation that they are not those kingdoms, but are others. The argument is based on verse 17: “These four great beasts are four kings who SHALL arise out of the earth” (emphasis mine). Therefore, since this vision was given to Daniel in the time of Babylonian kingdom, the first beast can not be the Babylon (because the word “shall” implies future), and so on. What’s your view on this?

Will The UN Birth The Beast?

Published: November 6, 2006 (Originally published: November 6, 2006)
Q

I have a question regarding the “beast” out of the sea,who is wounded and is as dead.

a)The league of Nation was formed after world war 2 but did not last long and seemingly died.

b)The United Nations is a resurrection of the first.

c)All the countries of the world are represented in it and give their allegiance to it.

d)America, after Iraq now also does things through the UN

e)The UN is as toothless as the league of nations was but if a powerful figure had to take charge and use the pooled power of all the nations world wide would it not be a powerfull force?

f)I understand that “Beast” will come out of the old Roman Empire but are all the European countries not on the UN and giving their full support to it????

g)The leaders of the UN to date have been weak and greedy people, what could happen if “satan” put a man in that position?.

Anti Christ And The End Times Religion

Published: December 19, 2013 (Originally published: July 17, 2013)
Q

Someone has pointed out that the Anti-Christ will one day defect from his own religion, from the god of his fathers, and magnify himself to be a god. If the anti-Christ comes from Islam and magnifies himself above all including Allah, and demand the Muslims follow him, how will the Muslim crowd respond to his demand? Seems like he would be called a traitor to his own religion, and be killed.

Understanding Revelation 17

Published: December 25, 2007 (Originally published: December 25, 2007)
Q

The following passage is from Revelation 17.

“This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits. They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for a little while. The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction.”

The passage says that the 7 heads are 7 kings (kingdoms) which represent the 7 world empires (Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greek, Roman, and the revived roman empire of the Anti-Christ). The passage then goes on to say that the beast who once was and now is not, which is describing the anti-christ is an 8th king. I cant quite figure this out. If the Antichrist and his government are counted as one of the seven, why is he then called an 8th king? Any help you can give me would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your excellent articles.

Read recently an article about the Bilderbergers meeting in Toronto. How do you see this organization and their plans, in terms of prophesy, the book of Revelation and the role (possible role) they may play in empowering the anti-christ and the mark of the beast?

The Four Horsemen Of Rev. 6

Published: August 16, 2010 (Originally published: August 15, 2010)
Q

Re: Rev. 6:8. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

I note that the statement in this verse indicated that the four horses of Revelations are given authority over a fourth of the earth.. I know china and the kings of the east are not under his authority for they gather an an army of 200 million men to attack the anti-Christ. Does this then mean that the anti-Christ is in control over only one fourth of the earth? This would certainly change the meaning of one world government.
