Re: In this week’s feature article, The Unbelievably Amazing Destiny Of the Church you wrote, “The only requirement God has imposed on people who live during the time of the Church is that we believe in the one He sent (John 6:28-29).” But didn’t Paul say we have to believe that Jesus died for our sins and rose again rather than just believe in Him?
There are a number of verses where Jesus said whoever believes in Him will be saved. John 3:16, John 3:36, John 5:24, John 6:28-29, John 6:40 are among the most popular. These are all direct from the Lord Himself. Scholars have concluded that by these statements Jesus meant, believe in who He was and what He did for us, not just believe that He existed. Therefore to believe in Him is to believe He is the Son of God who died for our sins and rose again.
