Can We Lose Our Salvation Through Disobedience?

Q

There are people today in the Church Age who truly believe they are saved by grace and not of works, but “fear” and think they can lose their salvation by disobedience. I know all other believers from the Old Testament, Tribulation, and Millennial times will have to do works/obey in order to show they are believers. The Church Age is the exception, but can Church Age believers cancel out their salvation by being afraid they can lose it?

A

In the case of a born again believer, Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us the faith to save us was a gift from God, and 2 Cor 1:21-22 says God had put His mark of ownership on us and His Spirit in our heart as a deposit guaranteeing what is to come. Therefore, fearing the loss of our salvation is just a tool the enemy uses in an attempt to steal the joy of our salvation.

Over and over again the Bible confirms that it’s what we believe that saves us, and never once does it say our salvation can be lost by disobeying God’s Law.
